‘We Bury the Dead’ kicks off filming in Albany this week as Brenton Thwaites and Mark Coles Smith join the cast alongside Daisy Ridley
Written and directed by Western Australian filmmaker Zak Hilditch, We Bury the Dead has attracted production funding from Screen Australia, Screenwest, Lotterywest, the WA Regional Screen Fund, Gramercy Park Media and Peachtree Media Partners.

Lotterywest provides Screenwest with record $9.2M for 2023/2024
Lotterywest has provided Screenwest with a grant of $7.7M plus an additional grant of $1.5M, as a result of an unprecedented level of production. This additional grant will see WA achieve its biggest year of scripted production to date.

Applications open for Indonesian Marketplace 2:1 – Matched Development Fund
Part of the Australia – Indonesia Fast Track Initiative, the fund will provide double the marketplace development investment from international market partners with direct access to South East Asian (SEA) territories.

Screenwest heading to Albany to meet Great Southern screen practitioners
Screenwest Development Manager, Shane McNeil, is heading to Albany in March to meet with Great Southern-based screen practitioners. Shane will be available to meet with practitioners one-on-one to discuss Screenwest’s funding opportunities.

Stan Original comedic crime thriller series ‘Population 11’ starring Ben Feldman set to premiere on 14 March
Population 11 is a Stan Original Series produced by Jungle Entertainment in association with Factor 30 Films, with major production investment from Screenwest, Lotterywest and the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund and international sales by Lionsgate.

Two attachment opportunities on upcoming documentary series
A paid 1st Assistant Editor Attachment and paid Production Assistant Attachment are available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming documentary series, to be co-produced by WA production companies Periscope Pictures and Karla Hart Enterprises.
