Screenwest Seeks Expressions of Interest for First Nations Cultural Advisors

Screenwest is seeking expressions of interest as it seeks to form a group of First Nations cultural advisors that reflects the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culture, languages, genders, geography, skills and experience.

Advisors will assist Screenwest to create policy and strategic decisions on a properly informed basis and to ensure representations of First Nations stories and culture are appropriately represented and reflect the diversity of First Nations lives and cultural expression.

First Nations Cultural Advisors may be called on by Screenwest to:

    • Provide impartial fact-based feedback/written comments on the cultural components of projects tasked to them by Screenwest.
    • Provide cultural advice to inform the review and/or development of Screenwest grant funding programs and initiatives.
    • Contribute strategic advice on how Screenwest can integrate First Nations perspectives into Screenwest strategies and policies.

Advisors may be engaged for a period of up to two years and will be remunerated for their time.

First Nations Cultural Advisors will be in addition to, and will not replace, First Nations Funding Panel Assessors.
