Screenwest launches Film Festivals Fund guidelines

Screenwest is pleased to announce that it will open its new Film Festivals Fund for applications in July 2024.

The funding is for film festivals that can and do deliver the following outcomes:

  1. Showcase WA-made screen content and talent.
  2. Create an awareness of, and support for, the WA screen industry with the public.
  3. Provide valuable networking, development and business opportunities to WA screen practitioners.
  4. Give early career WA screen practitioners important pathways to break into the global market.

The program guidelines were developed following a review of Screenwest’s Screen Culture Program. During the review consultant Myriam Leonardy from Shape Executive consulted with over 60 stakeholders including screen industry practitioners and screen industry grant recipients.

Timeline

  • July 2024: Film Festivals Fund opens for applications through SmartyGrants.
  • 30 September 2024: Applications close at 5:00pm AWST.
  • November 2024: Notification of funding decisions.

The Film Festivals Fund guidelines are available to read on the Film Festivals Support page of the Screenwest website.
