Screenwest announces 2026 Tele-Navigator participants
Screenwest today announced the seven Western Australian creatives selected for the highly coveted Tele-Navigator accelerator program.
Tele-Navigator is a development accelerator program which supports bold new voices in Western Australia’s screen industry to develop scripted television projects through workshops and mentoring with some of Australia’s leading writers and producers.
This year’s Tele-Navigator participants and their projects are:
- Mararo Wangai – Kinyozi Express
- Rachel Fitzgerald – The Family Business
- Sue Yin Goh – Bury Bay
- Clare Toonen – Till Death
- Meg Shields – The Caretakers
- Chantelle Lucas and Tabbetha Marshall – Good Mothers.
Over four days, participants took part in workshops, mock writers’ rooms and mentoring with leading writers and producers including Peter Matessi (The Heights, Return to Paradise, EastEnders), Mike Jones (Windcatcher, A Sunburnt Christmas, Christmas Ransom), Loani Arman (The End, Warm Props, The Family Law) and Mithila Gupta (Four Years Later, Five Bedrooms, Bump).
Following the development workshop and upon submission of revised creative materials, up to two of the Tele-Navigator participants will be selected to receive further development funding to progress their projects to market.
Screenwest’s Head of Scripted Content and Talent Tenille Kennedy said “This year’s program brings together a creatively rigorous and commercially astute cohort of industry consultants with an extraordinary depth of talent among Western Australian storytellers. The calibre of projects being nurtured is particularly exciting, with character driven, emotionally resonant stories that also demonstrate strong commercial potential.
Through Tele-Navigator, Screenwest provides a genuine pathway for WA creatives to connect with leading industry expertise and accelerate their distinctive, ambitious ideas into the next stage of development.”
