Screenwest welcomes new Board Members Donna Oxenham and Susan Hunt

Screenwest is delighted to announce the appointments of Donna Oxenham and Susan Hunt to the Screenwest Board of Directors.

Donna and Susan join Board Chair John Driscoll, Deputy Chair Christopher Holman and current Directors Michael Scott, John Atkins AO, Sue Taylor, Bryce Menzies and Kylie du Fresne, with Directors Andrea Hoskins and Michael Ottaviano departing last month.

Donna Oxenham is a Yamatji woman and a descendant of the Malgana people of Shark Bay in the Northwest of Western Australia. Donna has worked with Indigenous people, groups and organisations throughout Western Australia, and the broader Australian Indigenous community, particularly within the field of arts, history, cultural heritage and native title. Through her various roles, Donna has become an experienced researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in strategic planning, organisational development, cultural heritage, research and management, Donna holds positions on a number of boards such as on the Board of Venues West which holds the major sporting venues of Perth and the Royal Life Saving of Western Australia.

Susan Hunt has worked in State Government for over 30 years. She was Chief Executive of Perth Zoo (2003-2017) and of Lotterywest and Healthway (2017-2021).  She is a past President of the World Zoo and Aquarium Association and the Australasian Zoo Association. Susan is a recipient of an Australian Public Service Medal for her contribution to the community and to public service. She is an awardee of the Institute of Public Administration IPAA Patrons Award as well as being an Australian IPAA Fellow and Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government. Susan is an experienced Board member and is presently the Chairperson of the Feral Cat Working Group, the National Anzac Centre and the Marine Turtle Expert Panel.

“Donna and Susan each bring a wealth of experience, skills and insight to the Screenwest Board; I look forward to working with them as the Western Australian screen industry continues to grow. I would also like to thank outgoing members Andrea Hoskins and Michael Ottaviano, who made invaluable contributions during their time as Board Directors.” said John Driscoll, Screenwest Chair.

Screenwest’s Board of Directors are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and its governance. The Board brings a diverse and extensive set of skills, knowledge and experiences to the organisation and WA screen industry.

Active WA-based industry practitioners are precluded from being appointed as Board Directors to remove issues of conflict of interest in funding decisions.

Details on the current Screenwest (Australia) Limited Board of Directors can be found on the Screenwest website here.
