Screenwest launches $2M Matched Scripted TV Production Fund to prioritise WA creatives and stories

Screenwest is pleased to announce a new one-off matched grant initiative for experienced Western Australia Producers with scripted television series that originate or have been significantly developed in WA.

Eligible projects must be made in Western Australia and commissioned by an Australian broadcaster or streaming platform.

Screenwest will provide up to $2,000,000 in production grant funding per project, matched with an Australian broadcaster or streaming platform licence fee.

Funding will be calculated as follows:

  • Up to $250,000 per broadcast half-hour matched with an Australian broadcast or streaming platform licence fee.
  • Up to $500,000 per broadcast hour matched with an Australian broadcast or streaming platform licence fee.

Western Australian Resident Producers are invited to submit their scripted series. Projects must be for an Australian TV broadcaster or streaming platform and have a current letter of intent or deal memo detailing license fees that meet industry standards.

Screenwest encourages applications from First Nations Australians and people from historically under-represented groups.

How to Apply

Applications close Monday, 28 April 2025 at 5:00pm AWST.

Applications will be accepted through the Screenwest SmartyGrants portal.

The full guidelines and application materials are available on the Special Initiatives page of the Screenwest website.
