About the Attachment
Dates: Part-time commencing Monday, 11 August 2026 with end date to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Location: Booragoon, Perth
Production Company: Periscope Pictures
Responsibilities: Under the expert guidance of Production Coordinator/Production Manager Ella Wright you will:
- Gain hands-on experience within the production team of a feature documentary commissioned by a national broadcaster.
- Gain practical insight into the day-to-day operations of a professional documentary production.
- Develop an understanding of industry-standard production processes, including scheduling, production planning, crew communications, travel coordination, and production administration.
- Assist with preparation of production paperwork, logistical management, and communication workflows.
- Gain exposure to higher-level production management responsibilities, including budget oversight, schedule management, and the strategic coordination required to deliver a nationally commissioned documentary.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
The Production Company will select the successful applicant. Screenwest provides administration support.
Key Requirements
In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines and Screenwest Terms of Trade, you must have:
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and proactive work ethic,
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel & Word, shared Google Drive workflows,
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have:
- Experience within Indigenous communities and/or Indigenous film/video productions
- Producing credit on at least one short film project
- Previous experience in production roles (theatre/film) and/or
- A qualification in film or production-related training.
