Production and Diversity & Inclusion funding rounds now open

Screenwest is pleased to open four rounds:

  • Scripted Production Funding
  • Documentary Production Funding
  • Footloose Production Funding
  • Diversity and Inclusion – General

Scripted Production Fund

The Scripted Production Fund provides support to Western Australian producers for production finance for feature films, telemovies and scripted series with significant marketplace attachments from traditional and new distribution platforms (with significant audience share).

Applications for the Scripted Production Round close on Tuesday, 26 April 2022 at 5:00pm AWST.

Documentary Production Fund

The Documentary Production Fund provides support to Western Australian producers for production finance for feature length documentary films and factual series with significant marketplace attachments from traditional and new online platforms and distributors.

Applications for the Documentary Production Round close on Tuesday, 26 April 2022 at 5:00pm AWST.

Footloose Production Fund

The Footloose Production Fund provides production funding to secure high profile, market driven, local, national and international footloose, scripted screen productions to Western Australia to showcase local stories, locations and/or culture to an international audience and to assist in the development of the Western Australian screen sector.

Applications for the Footloose Production Round close on Monday, 28 March 2022 at 5:00pm AWST.

Diversity & Inclusion Fund – General

The Diversity & Inclusion Fund – General supports the creation and growth of diverse representation on and/or behind the camera from targeted underrepresented groups of Western Australian screen industry practitioners. It has a particular focus on practitioners from CaLD backgrounds, living with disability, LGBTQIA+ and intersectionalities of these groups. These funds may be used for either projects or activities.

Applications for the Diversity & Inclusion Round close on Monday, 11 April 2022 at 5:00pm AWST.

How to Apply

The full guidelines, application materials and eligibility criteria for each funding program are available on the Production Funding and Diversity & Inclusion Funding pages of the Screenwest website.

All program guidelines are to be read in conjunction with the Screenwest Terms of Trade, which are available on the Screenwest website.

Whilst there have been no changes to the funding guidelines, applicants should always read the latest guidelines for each initiative which are uploaded to the website on the round opening date.

All funding applications will now be required to be submitted through the SmartyGrants portal. A link to the correct form for each funding round will be included in the relevant fund guidelines.

We ask all applicants to take note of the closing deadline, as all applications through the SmartyGrants portal close promptly at 5:00pm AWST. For more information on applying through SmartyGrants, read our helpful tips here.
