Role: Post Production Researcher
Dates: Monday, 10 November 2025 – Friday, 19 December 2025
Location: Fremantle

The successful candidate will complete six consecutive weeks as a paid Post Production Researcher Attachment under the expert guidance of Senior Researcher, Katrina Tudor, where you will:

- Learn best practices in production research, with a focus on how research informs and supports the scripting process. This includes, understanding and participating in the fact-checking process
- Developing and maintaining a clear, well-organised research database
- Build advanced factual research skills, with particular emphasis on the verification and contextual accuracy of historical content
- Assist in the creation of annotated scripts by ensuring all historical references are accurate, properly sourced, and clearly documented
- Research, source, and manage archive materials relevant to the project, including identifying and pursuing rights clearances when required
- Gain hands-on experience in supporting legal and editorial compliance processes during documentary post-production
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of essential post-production documentation, such as fact-check logs and clearance reports
- Observe and engage with the editorial process by attending edit viewings, providing opportunities to understand how research informs narrative construction
- Conduct thorough research to source accurate facts, figures, and background information to support editorial and creative decisions

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, as well as:

- Excellent research and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Clear and confident written communication
- Demonstrated interest in factual storytelling, particularly in the health and science space
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Commitment to developing a career in documentary production, research, or editorial roles.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:

- Degree in associated subject, such as history.
