A paid six-week Junior Researcher attachment is available for a WA screen practitioner through the Screenwest BTL Crew Capacity Program. The attachment will be working on a documentary series.

Responsibilities
Under the expert guidance of Story Producer / Shooter Producer Madeline Ong, you will:
- Gain an understanding of story producing and how to use factual information in documentary filmmaking.
- Attend weekly editorial meetings.
- Create research briefs for the editorial team.
- Work on basic logistics required for feasibility of filming certain scenes.
- Research requested material for use in the narrative of the filming.
- Fact check information as required.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
The production company will select the successful applicant. Screenwest provides administration support.
Key Requirements
In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines and Screenwest Terms of Trade, you must have:
- Solid computer skills;
- Writing skills; and
- Logistics skills.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have:
- An interest in social themes, social justice, current affairs.
- Experience in documentary filmmaking.
