Screenwest is pleased to announce a paid Edit Assistant Attachment is available for a Western Australian screen practitioner through the BTL Crew Capacity Program on an upcoming Documentary Series based in Perth. Applications close Thursday, 25 September 2025 at 5pm AWST.
About the attachment
Role: Edit Assistant
Dates: 13 October – 21 November 2025
Location: Perth
Production Company: Prospero Productions
The successful candidate will complete six consecutive weeks as a paid Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of Meredith Watson Jeffrey where you will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of an Edit Assistant on an observational documentary series
- Gain exposure to media management, post-production workflows and best practices in ingesting footage and synching media for editors
- Gain a broader understanding of the various stages of the editing processes from assembly to final delivery
- Gain deeper understanding of the Offline Editor’s role and purpose including their relationship with the Series Producer
- Gain a better understanding to assemble a scene for an offline editor
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines
and Screenwest Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will have:
- Knowledge of working with AVID
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to take direction and work autonomously / show initiative
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:
- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
