CinefestOZ showcases a slate of Screenwest-supported productions in the South West
CinefestOZ kicks off across the state’s South West on 30 August with an exciting program of more than 90 features, short films and TV series to be screened over the nine-day festival.
CinefestOZ Film Festival kicks off across the state’s South West on 30 August with an exciting program of more than 90 features, short films and television series to be screened over the nine-day festival.
Screenwest funded films We Bury the Dead and Birthright are in contention for the festival’s $100,000 film prize, along with finalists Songs Inside and One More Shot.
Western Australian made Mystery Road: Origin 2 and Tales from Outer Suburbia, based on author Shaun Tan’s memories of growing up in the northern suburbs of Perth, will also feature on the big screen. As will episodes 1 and 2 of Hunting Outback Gold.
In addition, filmmakers in Western Australia will have the opportunity to listen to and meet with some of Australia’s leading streamers, broadcasters and practitioners as part of CinefestOZ Film Festival’s Industry Program on 4 to 5 September.
CinefestOZ runs from 30 August to 7 September, and is supported by the WA Government, Screenwest, Lotterywest, the City of Busselton, Rio Tinto, Forester and Screen Australia.
