The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as an Assistant Editor Attachment under the expert guidance of the Offline Editor, where they will:

  • Build on their understanding of post-production workflow systems and best practices.

  • Gain experience importing the transcoded rushes in Avid Media Composer and syncing the picture and sound rushes using timecode to produce fully logged sub clips in preparation for editing.
  • Assist with the management of all media, digitising material, moving media files into a shared storage environment and understanding labelling systems and logging.
  • Understand the process of Rough Cuts, Fine Cuts and Picture Lock, Online and Final Delivery.
  • Learn to make day-to-day decisions to ensure post-production runs smoothly.

  • disability;
  • sexuality and gender identities (LGBTQI+);
  • location (including urban communities and remote regions), and

If the right candidate cannot be found for these roles, the attachments may be offered in another department.
