Applications open for travel funding to attend Melbourne International Games Week 2024

Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round for Melbourne International Games Week 2024, taking place in Victoria in October. The travel round covers Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2024, running 7-9 October, and/or PAX Aus 2024, running 11-13 October.

GCAP is Australia’s premier professional development and networking event, providing valuable insights and connections for the game development industry.

PAX Aus is a celebration of gaming and gaming culture featuring thought-provoking panels, a massive expo hall filled with the best publishers and independent studios, game demos, musical performances, tournaments and community experience unlike any other.

WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

A set amount of $2,000 to assist with flights, accommodation and registration will be provided and as such, a budget is not required as part of the application. This is a competitive round and only a limited number of practitioners will be supported.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a Western Australian resident and meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.

Applicants will be responsible for purchasing their registration to attend GCAP and/or PAX Aus.

Screenwest will only fund one person per project / company to attend GCAP and/or PAX Aus.

How to Apply

Applications can be made through Screenwest’s SmartyGrants portal.

Applications will be assessed against the criteria as outlined within the Travel Fund Guidelines.

Applications for Melbourne International Games Week close Monday, 5 August at 5:00pm AWST.
