Applications open for travel funding to attend Marché du Film 2025 in Cannes

Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round to support WA screen producers attending Marché du Film (the Cannes Film Market) at Festival de Cannes 2025.

Festival de Cannes is one of the most widely publicised film festivals, showcasing international work, artists and themes on the world stage. The Marché du Film features over 14,000 film industry professionals who travel to Cannes each year to present and discover almost 4,000 films and projects in development at 33 screening venues.

The market will take place in Cannes, France from 13 – 21 May 2025.

WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

A set amount of $5,000 to assist with flights, accommodation and registration will be provided. A budget is not required as part of the application.

A limited number of practitioners will be supported.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a Western Australian resident and meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.
  • Hold the underlying rights to a solid slate of at least three projects in development with some level of market interest.

Screenwest will not be responsible for purchasing/obtaining registration(s) for practitioners.

Screenwest will only fund one person per project / company to attend Marché du Film.

How to Apply

Applications can be made through Screenwest’s SmartyGrants portal.

Applications will be assessed against the criteria as outlined within the Travel Fund Guidelines.

Applications for Marché du Film 2025 close Monday, 10 March 2025 at 5:00pm AWST.
