Screenwest has announced a competitive skills development opportunity for one WA screen practitioner to attend the Cannes Film Festival in France with Odin’s Eye Entertainment, an international sales agent, distributor and production company.

Taking place on the ground in Cannes from 12 – 22 May 2024, the opportunity provides a chance to gain hands-on experience at market events while liaising with filmmakers, distributors, sales agents and press on a global scale.

About Odin’s Eye Entertainment

Established in 2006 by Michael Favelle and based in Sydney, Odin’s Eye Entertainment (OEE) is a vertically integrated production, distribution and international sales agency that specializes in working with emerging and established filmmakers across a wide variety of genres. As a sales agency, OEE represents feature length motion pictures, documentaries and television content worldwide, hosting its own sales booth at every major festival including, but not limited to, Cannes, AFM, MIPCOM, Berlin and FILMART.

  • Display an ongoing commitment to being a part of the screen industry in Western Australia and continue to work and do business with Western Australia.
  • Be able to commit to undertaking the opportunity for duration of the festival (12 – 22 May 2024).

Screenwest will provide the successful applicant with a contribution of up to $5,000 to assist with travel and living expenses.

WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

How to apply

Applicants will need to provide the below materials via email to: funding@screenwest.com.au, with the Subject Line: Odin’s Eye Entertainment Skills Development Opportunity.
