Applications open for Gamescom travel support

Screenwest has opened a competitive round to provide travel funding to a limited number of WA games studios and/or developers to attend Gamescom 2023, taking place in Cologne, Germany from 23-27 August.

Gamescom is the world’s largest event for computer and video games and Europe’s most comprehensive business platform for the games industry, with its 2022 event attracting 265,000 visitors from over 100 countries and featuring 1,100 exhibitors. Gamescom offers a wealth of opportunities for game developers by giving them access to the biggest names in the business. The event will serve as a showcase for the latest games being created internationally, the latest technologies being utilised, and the publishers and industry partners who are looking to provide services for talented game developers.

Screenwest will provide the successful applicant a set amount of $5,000 in travel funding towards their registration, travel and accommodation costs.

Eligibility

Applicant eligibility criteria is outlined in the Screenwest Travel Fund Guidelines. Please ensure you read these guidelines before applying.

Only one representative per screen project, company or organisation is eligible to receive support. As this is a competitive round, support is not assured even where an applicant meets all the minimum eligibility criteria. First Nations practitioners and practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Applications close Monday, 22 May 2023 at 5:00pm AWST.

Applications will be accepted through the Screenwest SmartyGrants portal.
