“Bill Bailey’s Wild West Australia’ was all about showcasing the best of Western Australia on screen.

“The production took every opportunity we could to explore the most beautiful landscape and locations that the State has to offer. The sheer scale and geographic diversity of the Western Australia meant the show took on a new look in every episode as the series travelled from the south to the north of the state. Over the four week shoot the crew travelled approximately 5,000km on the road and 2,000km flying.”

“This was a great advantage for Perpetual as the crew were able to provide accurate and relevant knowledge of the local landscape and culture, which added authenticity and richness to the storytelling. This was particularly noticeable in Paul Bell’s strong ties to the community in northern WA, with whom we were able to secure access to stories and locations that may have otherwise fallen out of our scope. Rhys Jones’ local knowledge of the Southern end of WA was also key for logistics and sourcing the best filming locations around Albany, Denmark and Esperance.”
