As part of this accelerator program, which is now in its second year, teams joined writer Andrew Bovell (Things I Know to Be True, Lantana) at the State Library for a masterclass on feature storytelling.

Producers Julie Ryan (H is for Happiness, Hotel Mubai, Ten Canoes), Pauline Clague (The Colleano Heart, The Anangu) and Vincent Sheehan (Shayda, The Hunter, Little Fish) are leading intensive development workshops with each team focusing on accelerating their feature projects to be market ready.

“Congratulations to the seven talented teams selected to participate in Feature Navigator 2026. We are proud to deliver the program for a second year, championing bold, original feature film voices from Western Australia. Under the expert guidance and mentorship of leading feature film producers and writers, the program fosters creative partnerships, craft development, and ambition. We look forward to seeing these projects evolve and connect with audiences at home and beyond.” said Tenille Kennedy, Screenwest Head of Scripted: Content and Talent.

Teams are exploring the creative aspects of development, along with financing, market attraction and the intersection of budgets and editorial

Following the Feature Navigator workshop, up to two teams will receive further development funding to progress their projects.
