A paid six-week Producer’s Assistant attachment is available for a Western Australian screen practitioner through the Screenwest BTL Crew Capacity Program. The attachment will be working on a feature documentary production.
Applications close Monday, 23 March 2026 at 5pm AWST.

Dates: Six weeks over the following period on a part-time basis, 8 April – 20 November 2026
(note that the final dates and hours to be worked will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: No Thing Productions
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of Producer Brooke Silcox, you will:
- Assist with developing and implementing impact campaigns.
- Assist and run media campaigns (including targeted social media).
- Assist with the release and distribution strategy – including with a bonafide distribution company.
- Assist with accounting and reports.
- Assist with legals and clearances.
- Assist with delivery of the production.
- Gain exposure to post-production and completion.
- Gain exposure and skills development in production operations; day-to-day problem solving.
- Gain exposure to relationship development with industry professionals.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
The production company will select the successful applicant. Screenwest provides administration support.
Key Requirements
In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines and Screenwest Terms of Trade, you must have:
- An interest in impact producing.
- An understanding of the cinema landscape in Australia, audience demographics and marketing strategies (i.e. targeted social media posting).
- Basic technological equipment (i.e. have a computer and phone).
- A car and driver’s licence (although this is not essential if public transport is an option).
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Basic understanding of, and access to, the Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Excel and Word); Google Drive and Dropbox for file management.
- Understanding of social media applications.
- Polite phone and email manner
- An ability to forward think, identify problems and be solutions focused.
- A pro-active and self-driven attitude and the ability to escalate when needed.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience in producing and/or production management in either scripted or factual production.
