A paid Assembly Editor Attachment is available through the Below-The-Line Crew Capacity Program on an upcoming Documentary Series based in Fremantle WA. Applications close Thursday, 11 December 2025 at 5pm AWST.
About the attachment
Dates: Monday, 5 January 2026 – Friday, 13 February 2026
Location: Fremantle, WA
Production Company: Prospero Productions
You will complete a six-week attachment under the expert guidance of Offline Editor Jonathan Rowdon. You will:

- Understand the responsibilities and requirements of being an Assembly Editor.
- Work with the Series Producer on editorial feedback from Executive Producer.
- Work through the offline process from assembly to rough cut.
- Work with the offline editor providing mark ups on rushes.
- Organise and source archive for editors and production team.
- Source, ingest and organise music from music libraries based on styles and genres requested by the Series Producer and Mentor.
- Feedback to the edit assist team – any technical problems with footage and assist in troubleshooting.
- Sit in on and contribute to weekly post team meetings regarding media management.
- Learn post-production workflows and best practices in ingesting footage and syncing media for editors.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, as well as:

- Experience using Avid.
- Basic understanding of Post-Production workflows.
- Interest in working as an offline editor for broadcast.
- Ability to take direction and feedback from Series Producer and Post-Director.
- Willing to work collaboratively with production management team.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:

- Prior experience in broadcast TV.
- Interest in working in documentary/factual storytelling.
- Experience working with shared media storage systems.
