A paid Junior Production Manager Attachment for a Western Australian screen practitioner through the Screenwest BTL Crew Capacity Program. The attachment will be working on a two-part documentary series which reinvestigates one of Australia’s most notorious true-crime cases. Applications close Tuesday, 2 December 2025 at 5pm AWST.

About the attachment

Dates: Monday, 8 December 2025 – Friday, 30 January 2026 (note the production is taking a break from Monday, 22 December to Friday, 2 January 2026)
Location: Fremantle, Perth
Production Company: Prospero Productions

You will complete a six-week attachment under the expert guidance of Senior Production Manager Karina Rowe. You will:

- Gain in-depth knowledge of documentary production processes in production and post-production phases
- Build and refine organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project requirements
- Develop budgeting and financial management skills in order to manage complex production budgets
- Develop leadership and team management abilities to inspire and motivate a diverse team
- Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodations, permits and equipment logistics.

WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines and Screenwest Terms of Trade, you must have:

- Proven experience as a documentary Production Coordinator or similar role in the film/television industry
- Knowledge of documentary production processes
- A good understanding of excel
- Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise task and meet deadlines
- Basic budgeting and financial management skills, e.g. coding of invoices, reconciling of spend on production bank cards, preparing and reconciling of crew float/ expenses and processing of per diems
- Experience organising travel and accommodation arrangements for cast, crew and production teams
- Experience arranging filming permits and release forms and the tracking of permits and releases
- Experience creating and distributing Call Sheets for productions with complex logistics
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and quality control throughout the production process
- An ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience keeping across safety issues and aware of the key elements of a risk assessment.
