Screenwest is pleased to announce a paid Costume Designer Attachment is available for a Western Australian screen practitioner through the Screenwest BTL Crew Capacity Program on an upcoming Feature Film based in Fremantle. Applications close Tuesday, 14 October at 5pm AWST.

Role: Costume Designer Attachment
Dates: Monday, 20 October – Wednesday, 10 December 2025
Location: Fremantle
Production Company: Never Sleep Pictures
The successful candidate will complete 7.5 consecutive weeks as a paid Costume Designer Attachment under the expert guidance of Costume Designer Sophie Fletcher where you will:
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Costume Design process on a feature film
- Work closely with the costume designer attending creative meetings, assisting in costume fittings and other duties as required
- Gain a thorough understanding of how Costume Department is set up and run on a day-to-day basis – including fittings to sourcing and prepping costumes, maintaining continuity to wrap
- Working with all costume department roles both on and off set
- Gain broader understanding of how costume department works in collaboration with other departments from pre-production into principal photography and wrap
- This role may require assisting costume department with setting up the costume office
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the BTL Crew Capacity Program – Applicant Guidelines
and Screenwest Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will have:
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills
- Basic graphic design skills
- Eagerness and interest in costume design
- Initiative and attention to detail
- A valid driver’s license and car as there might be traveling required between set / office and sourcing
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:
- Tertiary Qualification in costume, fashion, pattern making or film
OR
- relevant hands-on industry experience on a film set, or styling in the commercial world
