Filmed across Western Australia’s Mid West, Gascoyne, Wheatbelt, South West and Goldfields-Esperance regions, the second season of the Disney+ Australian Original series taps back into the state’s ‘Treasure Coast’ – which is believed to be the home of more than 1,600 shipwrecks.
The fearless shipwreck hunters – Ryan Chatfield, Johnny Debnam, Nush Freedman, Andre Rerekura, and Ash Sutton – are back, with new missions to uncover the mysteries and stories hidden in the seabed.

With financial support from Screenwest, Lotterywest and the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund (WARSF), and access to expert maritime archaeologists at the Western Australian Museum, the highly skilled crew of ocean adventurers travel to some of the most breathtaking locations on the planet. They explore maritime stories of our past and make some unbelievable, breakthrough discoveries.
Propelled by the success of their expeditions featured in the first season, which include the historic maritime discovery of the 111-year-old Finnish-owned sailing ship Glenbank, the shipwreck hunters have levelled up with new locations, even bigger adventures and wild animal encounters.
The series is directed and produced by VAM Media’s Brendan Hutchens (Shipwreck Hunters Australia, Drawn to Water, Walking Man), together with series producer Russell Vines (Ningaloo: Australia’s Other Great Reef, The Waler: Australia’s Great War Horse, Australia’s Sleep Revolution with Dr Michael Mosley) and executive producer Steve Bibb (Shipwreck Hunters Australia, Inside the Sydney Opera House, Matildas: The World at Our Feet).

Production of Shipwreck Hunters Australia Season 2 is estimated to have attracted a spend of more than $4.4 million to Western Australia, including over $1.6 million in regional towns.
Shipwreck Hunters Australia Season 2 will premiere on 27 August, with all episodes dropping at once on Disney+.
