West Coast Visions - Documentary provides production funding for a director’s debut feature length documentary film that will be made in Western Australia.
West Coast Visions – Documentary provides production funding for a director’s debut feature length documentary film that will be made in Western Australia. The initiative is designed to uncover, inspire and develop talented Western Australian filmmaking teams with a distinctive vision.
Screenwest has opened two funding rounds associated with the initiative:
- West Coast Visions Documentary – Production Funding
Production funding of up to $500,000 is available.
The team must be led by a first-time WA Director who has not had a theatrically released feature film credit or equivalent Above-the-Line broadcast credit and include at least one WA producer who will be credited on the film.

- Special Documentary Development Funding Round
A special project development round has been opened for potential West Coast Visions feature documentary projects.
To be eligible the project and team must be able to satisfy the eligibility requirements set out in the West Coast Visions – Documentary (Production) guidelines.

WA First Nations screen practitioners and WA screen practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
There will be a West Coast Visions (Documentary) information session held via Zoom on Thursday, 31 July at 2pm AWST.
