Revelation Perth International Film Festival launches its 2022 program
The 25th Revelation Perth International Film Festival has launched its 2022 program, with the festival set to deliver an eclectic lineup of Australian and international films at Luna Cinemas, Leederville from 7 – 17 July.
The annual screen culture event is dedicated to presenting independent cinema from around the globe in a context that explores film’s great traditions, its contemporary movements and its future directions.
The festival’s silver jubilee program features films direct from Rotterdam, Berlin, SXSW, Venice and Locarno Film Festivals, and includes 26 feature films, 16 full length documentaries and over 50 short films and short documentaries from 29 countries.
Western Australian content is set to shine brightly, with Ella Wright’s documentary Stage Changers, Karla Hart’s short Tooly and 2020 Unreal Engine Short Film Challenge recipient Ben Matei’s animated short Never Alone among the local selections. WA shorts will be celebrated at the popular Westralia Day at The Backlot on 9 July and on closing night at annual event Get Your Shorts On!, which includes the 2022 short documentaries commissioned by the City of Vincent.
Revelation’s Industrial Revelations event is also set to return, with directors Ben Young, Grant Sputore and producer Tania Chambers among the industry practitioners participating in the festival’s program of panels, discussions and workshops.
The Festival runs from Thursday, 7 July to Sunday, 17 July at Luna Cinemas Leederville. The full line-up is online and on sale now at revelationfilmfest.org.
